The object of the game is to guess the letters that make up the hidden word. Select your guess letter by clicking on the buttons on the screen with your mouse. Each time that you guess a correct letter, it will be revealed in the word. Choose a different collection of words by selecting a new category from the carousel list. The difficulty level controls how many incorrect guesses you can make before the game is over.

you should show a picture of the object to give the child an idea of what to quess rather than have them stab at random letters. That will help to reinforce the vocanulary word

Thanks for your post. We do this in the easy level, right behind pingu, the whale has the message "rollover to get a hint". If you do that over the whale, you'll see a picture of the hidden word.
